Is there a way I can change the layout to the date on my site? So many get confused with the military style. Thx.

I just started my forum, this weekend
and we are having a blast lots happening
my posters keep asking me to see if i can have the date format read month/date/year
you know us americans arent good with change and most get confused when they see the date, like the rest of the world does
Can you help me change this
