I received this message after posting a new topic and attempting to PM someone.... The board should make a difference between posting a new topic and sending a PM.

No, as a member could flood other members with  MPs

I'm not asking to be able to send multiple PMs without a time limit. I'm suggesting the code should make a difference between posting a thread and posting a PM. Here for example I created a public thread, AND I then wanted to send a PM to someone, and had to wait 2 minutes to do so. Most message boards have a time limit for posting multiple threads and another one for posting multiple PMs, but they don't assimilate both limits into one single limit.

I believe there should aslo be an option to disable this completely. At the forum I administrate, we do not have a problem with spamming, and it does get annoying when wanting to have a conversation, and having to wait before you can post again.

Tchat rooms are made for conversation, not forums.
it is not because today you do not face flooders that tomorrow you will not.

the 2 minutes are just for topic creation, not for message sendings (only 20 sec)

Except these are forums, not chat rooms.

Ok for 20seconds
But 2 minutes it's too much
Just in the case if someone use a modem and pay the phone ... Or if he can't use a lot of time on the Internet :
In this case, persons usually write messages in word, then where they are connected just send it ...
If a member food others withs MPs, other members will complain, ak for screenshoot tho check, then forbid the flooder to send MPs
But there must be a small limit, t avoid the case of pressins many time in send and then flood without want to ...
What I don't like is that edition is considered as a new topic, and have to wait a long time sometimes to just correct some spelling mistakes
And still about edition, I think that when the edition happn while no one responds and during 5 or 10minutes after the original message, it should not be writen edited by...

I would prefer it if admins were allowed to manually adjust the time limit. Some forums are very fast paced... and some other forums start minimising the time limit when a forum member gains credibility (either through a karma system or number of posts). If the admin could tailor the time limit to suit his/her forum's needs it would be better.

Me too, but it always need a very small tile between 2 messages, somes seconds
Because, by clinking 2 times we can send many messages without want to

Jeezs! There is a two minute limit between posts? Maybe I better rethink using this forum software. The place we are trying to move from (because of some trolls) has a 30 second spam filter that the members already object to.

Yeah, it would be nice if we were able to customize the time limit and have it set for two minutes and twenty seconds by default.

The reason this is particularly annoying, is that as admins, we can have recourse to post multiple new posts, or maybe an announcement in more than one section of our forum, and are restricted by the limit.

What would make sense is if admins were not subject to the two minute rule.
