since 8:30pm last night i've been unable to access my site - although i've still been able to access other aceboard forums

any help appreciated

i got into your forum by typing out the full address. i found that seems to work for me a little better since the most recent problem with the boards.

i also noticed only one of the forum icons in your upper tool menu loaded for me. i dont know what is causing the forum icons not to load. i dont know if you use the generic aceboard icons or not... seems you dont. i dont either, but the ones i now use are at least loading at my forum.

anyway, try what i suggested... typing out the fool addy in the URL box is working better than clicking on links, for whatever reason.

all it does is re-direct me to my search engine results and if i click from there i get a browser error message

this is being fixed as we speak

just sit down, wait and hope that admins will care and fix this all....
Can try to browse with Opera or FireFox instead of Iexplorer. Some days you may browse much faster.

My forum has also been down as of yesterday morning (May 27th) and cannot be accessed via direct URL entry:

Its getting beyond a joke now, been very slow loading when I have been able to even get on my own forum. If it continues I will be looking for another provider, which will be a shame as I do like aceboards format.

latest news : it should be fixed for sure within 15 days...

Well, thats some good news and hope for some people I guess who are still using Aceboards. But for me, now after I've had my new forum (different host/server) I wouldn't go back to Aceboards even if they did fix it. The reason is a simple one, the server is lightning fast at my new forum, and the features surpass Aceboards by a big margin, you can use HTML and BBcode and also post videos and many other things like "Game Players" and stuff. Also, they have a private messaging system much like aceboards does, and you can create webpages on the forum too and add differnt content if you like, for example "rules Pages" or 'Arcade Games' pages, etc. It also has a Chatroom on the forum that comes with it too. Members can automatically use it, and its all totally free like Aceboards is. Most of my members love being able to post music and news videos so that is really great. So I would never even consider Aceboards again. It took them having a poor server for me to find my new host, and I couldn't be happier about that.

But congrats to the folks who will stay with Ace. I still come here to help out when I can, so see you soon.

Out of interest, how did you get on with asking/moving members over to your new forum. I take it you couldn't transfer old topics etc.

Hi Barbelboy, no there is no way to automatically move topics over. I explained this in another topic so I'll just paste it here.

"What I did when I moved our forum to another host, was I put the new forum address in the "administrator welcome message" with a note that we had moved. Also, I told all the members if they had any posts they made and they wanted to move them over to the new forum they could copy and paste them over."

It all worked just fine, and helped weed out the members who stopped visiting the forum anyway. And also if they ever decide to go their again they'll see the message with the link to the new forum and find us, So it all work out. Most of all the members made the move and copied the posts they wanted over. Actually, the new forum is far more active than my aceboards forum ever was, and this is due mostly becuase of the faster server and the ability to post all kinds of content like videos and game consoles, etc.

Well Oliver, it looks like the 15 days as come and gone and the Aceboard servers are still slooooow..lol Sometimes it doesn't respond at all and just does nothing. I usually just try at night here like it is now and 'sometimes' that works better and responds right away. This thing is really a major problem now for the people still using these forums. But judging from the amount of posts here lately it looks like most people aren't even joining Aceboards, and most likely becuase they can't access them.  

I've given aceboard another chance as its now running fine even at work which was taking up to 2 minutes a page to load, where as my home connection was instant. We'll seee what happens as I've bookmarked Forumotion.

I made my forum tonight. I never got to login to my own forum because IT WON'T LET ME!!!!!!!! I'm sooooooooo confuzed. Can someone delete it please. (so I can start over)
