I thought that it would be nice to have a quality point system, like one in Heroes Community . If you make a good post (Worthy of a QP) you, surprise, surprise, will recieve a QP. However, behaving badly will result in a -QP, one less Quality Point. Recieving QPs will give you a status that is chosen by the administrator (For exapmle if you have 3 Quality Points, you can have "Promising" under your avatar, like in Heroes Community. Of course, other labels could be chosen. Like -3 QPs could be barbaric or something ) QPs could be given by the admin and moderators (in the forum in which they are moderators, of course). Having more QPs could also mean getting advantages, thus motivating members to make better posts. Like say, with 15 QPs you could post more often that once every 20 seconds (Just an idea)

It is also a great way to keep people in order, a good punishment, since now we only have silencing and banning, which are a bit extreme. They could be applied after 5 or so -QPs.

So, is it possible to get this kind of system to aceboard message boards?

The question is directed to the big bosses, but regular members can of course discuss the idea here and express themselves if they like So, regular members, what do you think of this kind of arrangement?

Oh I just remembered another thing, with enough Quality Points, you can rate threads in HC. As in "Interesting", "Community", "To Delete", "Inspiring", "Funny" and so on. That would be a great was to motivate people to get post more quality posts!

Personally, i think its a bad idea... one that i have witnessed cause a lot of in fighting in other forums i have participated in. it creates cliques and makes the posters divisive, creating rifts amongst members, at times. hurts feelings and prevents some from even wanting to post, feeling their dialogue, so to speak, is not up to snuff. a good admin, imo, can simply make all posters feel included and help to raise the quality of posts, just like any good team reflects the personality of its leader. then again... i have power and control issues.

i don't like that. You post not to receive a virtual award but because you want to post, it is basic and simple, but that's the way it should be.
And "Quality" is what :
  "is this answer helpful" yes/no 1 point, 2 points, 3 points
  "is this post useful to the RPG forum for the story continuation" yes/no, etc....

I would quit such forums....

And I don't know if it's in the scope, but IMO, I doubt...

Uhm, I mean that they would be extremely rare, awarded for the utmost brilliant posts and it would be quite okay and even common to have none and no one would blame you for that. I have none at HC and I'm okay with that

And by quality I mean well-written or funny or intriguing or something that required a lot of work and thinking etc...

Fine, you got some good points in, but I still think it's an idea that could work. It works in HC...
