i have my "Last messages" scrïpt on the bottom of both my forums, as i said in another post.

problem is... i used an MSN TV hosted page to place in my footer in order to have "no banners".

what i didn't realize is the html coding on msn tv is not compatible with other browsers.

now, i added new coding that is supposed to make it compatible with AOL, Netscape and MIE (whatever MIE is... anyone know?).

so... could someone on a PC please check either of my 2 forums and just let me know if you can see the "Last messages" scrïpt at the bottom of the forum?

it would be much appreciated. thank you!

oh yeah... the forums:

yes and yes.

The html code is not functionning, there should be a carriage return :
Change to :

Quote :

<center><img src=http://wiiman.250free.com/lands5.gif>
<p>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://forum.aceboard.net/lastposts.php?login=270622&colorbg=000066&colorbr=9958dd&text=f5f5dc&link=ffff00"></script><noscript><a href="http://www.aceboard.net" title="Free Message Board">Free Message Board</a>
</noscrïpt><br>
</center><br>

(this is for "thefog")

Let me know how it goes now.

thanks oliver... but that IS the code i'm currently using. i think it's all due to it being a hosted page on webtv's page builder. without the webtv browser, i think it may be impossible for some computers to read it, even though i installed the codes i was directed to use to get it to work on netscape, mie and aol. so i don't know... maybe i can find another host site with no banner ads. again... thanks!

oh, and what do you mean by "carriage return"?

please copy paste here your code as :
I copied the source of your footer and it was not working
I added space/enter (= carriage return) and it worked ok.

okay... this is where the page (included in the footer) is located:

http://community.webtv.net/jim488/thefog

the code i have within that page, that you listed is...

<center><img src=http://wiiman.250free.com/lands5.gif><p><scrïpt type="text/javascrïpt" src="http://forum.aceboard.net/lastposts.php?login=270622&colorbg=000066&colorbr=9958dd&text=f5f5dc&link=ffff00"></scrïpt><noscrïpt><a href="http://www.aceboard.net" title="Free Message Board">Free Message Board</a></noscrïpt>
</center>
<bgsound src=http://jim488.250free.com/Fog/welcome.wav>

are you saying that if i added a space/enter somewhere, it can be seen by even more pc users?

i don't understand how the coding can be wrong, because i CC&P'ed it straight from the forum, when i added the different colors, and it shows up fine, for me, now.

is it possible it's JUST a browser incompatability issue?

mmmm.............
the link is now functionning OK, I got the last messages displayed anyway.....

Got it !

your html page is too high to fit correctly in the screen. we have to drag and drop to see it correctly displayed.

i have no idea what would cause that, or how to correct it. i use centering tags on the html page, and i only have the page title listed in the footer space (on the admin page).

i DID notice that when i had ONLY the banner in the footer, it was aligned to the left on a pc, and stretched and enlarged to fit the tv screen on webtv (which looked better).

again, i honestly think it's just browser differences.

i'm assuming when you say "drag and drop" you mean it's aligned improperly? i don't know what you mean by "too high". it looks perfect on webtv. i wish there was something you could tell me to do to make it look better on the computer.

i don't mean to keep buggin' ya about it, but certainly appreciate the help!

I don"t mind to help

here's what I mean :
1) basic/normal display of your forum :
http://pic.aceboard.net/img/1/27056/1193860450.jpg
I can't see the last message scrïpt

2) if I right-click at the right of the logo, leave the click on and mouse the mouse down :
http://pic.aceboard.net/img/1/27056/1193860600.jpg
I can see the last messages.

This is because the height of the footer is limited to 120pixels (from the top of my head)

Try to remove the picture of your html foot page so that we can check if the first "last messages" are shown.

oh, okay... i see what you're saying. being able to put a screenshot like that on here is an excellent tool, btw. i've seen kimmy do that before.

i will remove the banner... it's strange that i can see the banner AND the entire last messages scrïpt on webtv, because i know about the height restriction.

i like the banner, though! LOL. i might have to move it to the bottom of the admin welcome... i doubt that removing it will allow for the last message in ALL 11 forums to be viewed, but let's see what happens.

sure... if i knew how.

everything i've ever coded or used html on... was webtv. i've only learned how to do BBcode since having my forum i started on here almost 7 months ago, so if it can be done... i'm willing to try.

if it's something that is too much of a hassle, for you, to explain, then no worries... i have the "last messages" scrïpt on my linked calendar, anyway.

i could just go back to the footer image.
