In a few sections on my board, members have reported posts being deleted. Now a whole thread has been deleted as well. What should I do?

my first thought is to change your password and have any other administrators or moderator do the same. good luck!

it happens sometimes, I'm not quite sure why. usually the threads show back up though.

Tried the password changing thing and it's still not working. Threads are disappearing like once a week. Tried the trash bin and they aren't there.

Question. Is there a limit to the number of topics you can have in a thread?

I don't think there is. I would recommend deleting all other mods and admins unless you know them personally and they're a trustworthy person.

While this case may be different I have had threads disappear from my site as well and I am absolutely sure it has nothing to do with the mods since it is only myself and one other. My members have been able to find the missing threads by doing a search but it would be nice to be able to give a little more of an explanation than " It happens sometimes ".

About your "Missing threads" - make sure a "Page '2' hasn't been automatically created by the forum. The page links are at the bottom of the "New Topics" table inside one of your forums.

You can set your forum to automatically create a page 2,3,4,5 and onward to a specified amount of topics of your choosing.

yeah, Runaway I have like over 50 pages on one of my threads. I changed the passwords, and I know its not my mods. It's just happening. At a rate of about 2 or 3 a week. Which is slightly annoying.
