edited since Christmas:

to test my "stop.wav" now, you can click on any of my posts at The FoG, click on the song in my sig to play it... and THEN click on The FoG next to the word Forum to stop the music.

original content of post follows:

i have been linking Christmas songs in the footer of my forum, and the song plays as soon as you visit my site, and on every page, visited, thereafter.

my suggestion is... you can always use the linkable "title of your forum" which is underlined and located beneath the logo, next to the other underlined word, Forum... to link a "stop.wav" audio file... in order to provide an option for visitors to "Stop the music".

i just thought of that, today. the "title" link is provided by aceboard as a link to another website about your forum, but for most of us, it seems... the forum is our main place to be, anyway.

if you want to see (or hear ) how it works, you can (here comes the cheap plug, lol) always click on the toyshop window in my sig, down there.

Thats an interesting idea for adding music to the forum and one that I never thought of before - and an interesting way of stopping the music too.

A few questions if I may.

Are you just adding the URL of a wav file to the footer of your forum to make the music playback automatically, or is there a code that you have add with it too?

And, can you incorporate the way file in a footer banner too so you have both? In other words, are you replacing a footer "banner or jpg" with the wav URL, or do you have them both in the footer?

Thanks

Because aceboards is down right now I can't check your forum out yet, but I will as soon as they are back up.

my footer banner is actually a webpage, separate from aceboard. i am able to place regular html on that page, unlike we can do in the aceboard forums. this allows me to code a real audio song that automatically plays when i list the separate webpage url as my footer (on the admin "change the appearance of your forum" page)

this is the first time i've checked in here in days... it may be a few more before i'm able to, again... way busy! i hope that helped! Merry Christmas!
