The forum works good for me, I just have one complaint.
The ads on the main forum page are for Pest Control companies.
Any ads would be acceptable except for other Pest Control companies.
Why would I want ads for other companies on my pest control forum?
Is there anyway to have the ads be other than pest control?

the ads are what make your forum free... and they also sometimes correspond to topics in your forum or the title of your forum... like my board is a parenting forum, so we always get adds about parenting/kids/forums etc...

I realize the ads pay for the forum and thats great.
My complaint is that they are pest control ads, any other ads would be fine.
It's just not right to have competitors ads on my forum.

ads are related to your forum's subjects/topics/posts.

I can certainly understand your frustration and I think the answer is a simple one.

If Aceboards would have "paid subscrïptions" or what might better be known as "premium services" the banners and Ads could be removed. This is not uncommon for message boards and forum hosts to have, and I think it would be a great feature that Aceboards should consider. So I am using this topic as a platform to get the message across.

There is really no reason under the sun that Aceboards shouldn't implement 'premium services' for its subscribers. They would get their money and the ads would be removed. Everyones happy.

If you people here see this as a good idea too please voice you opinion and perhaps Aceboards will take notice.

Merry Christmas everyone!

this subject has already been broached and I think the answer was a respectful "no" but I could be wrong.

The idea being of course that they would still have "Free Accounts" too and just implement an alternative "Paid Subscrïption" accounts for people who wish to have their ads removed. That way Aceboards can keep their ads but just stop the ads towards the paid accounts.

The only thing I see as a possible problem for aceboards and perhaps why they might say "No" to this suggestion would be because they would have to set each individual aceboard up so they can 'turn on' and 'turn off' the ads. This might present a problem for the programmers and an area they might not want to get into because of the technical problems involved. Otherwise it's a sound business transaction that is guaranteed to work so everyone wins.

Other forums have this option and its a sound one. I like aceboards enough to where I won't leave regardless if they paid accounts or not, but BECAUSE I like them is why I would like to see them take this into consideration a little farther.
