| Author : | Topic: Is it possible to put a hit counter on my message board? | Bottom |
| bukizzle316 Posts : 53 |
If I were to copy the link to a hit counter and used it as a footer, would a hit counter appear and actually function correctly at the bottom of my page? (Just in case if you don't understand what I'm talking about, a hit counter is a little box at the bottom of a page that counts everytime someone views the website, kinda like a pedometer or an odometer.) Thanks for any help. I appreciate it. Example: I got this hitcounter from www.hit-counter-download.com and it says copy this code onto your page: <table width=\"133\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"3\"><tr><td align=\"center\"><a href=\"http://www.hit-counter-download.com/fancy-html-hit-counters.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://www.hit-counter-download.com/cgi-bin/image.pl?URL=122749-2199\" alt=\"html hit counter\" border=\"0\" /></a></td></tr><tr><td align=\"center\"><font style=\"font-family: Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 9px; color: #330000; text-decoration: none;\">Get a <a href=\"http://www.hit-counter-download.com/\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 9px; color: #555555; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"free hit counter\">free hit counter</a> here.</font></td></tr></table> --Last edited by bukizzle316 on 2008-02-15 03:00:11 -- |

I tried the first suggestion with the [img] tags, but i'm getting this error message: Not Found The requested URL /[img]http://www.hit-counter-download.com/cgi-bin/image.pl was not found on this server. I tried it without the [img] tags and it seems to be working and counting properly. Thanks for your time and I'll get back if anything goes wrong. Thank you! --Last edited by bukizzle316 on 2008-02-15 19:22:04 -- |

I think you would need a account with photobucket or some other image uploading site that supports HTML, I think. |

[img]http://www.hit-counter-download.com/cgi-bin/image.pl?URL=122749-2199[/img] is what is typed in my post to make the counter be displayed in a post or in the welcome message : That's different for the footer, that's what I said :
depending on what you finally wanted to do. --Last edited by oliver68 on 2008-02-16 13:02:23 -- | ||||

Oh, I see. I thought you meant put the [img] tags in the footer with it. But I decided that it looks better in the Administrator welcome message. Thank you for all your help. --Last edited by bukizzle316 on 2008-02-17 06:57:32 -- |
