I've seen this question asked before, with an answer of no, but I'm HOPING that something has changed since then, haha.

I want to make my footer bigger, in order to hold a free chat window widget and actually have it readable.

Other forums allow this to be added as a topic, allowing it to hold about 15 lines of text... or be added to the footer in the same way, holding about 10 lines of text...

but here on aceboard you can only put it in the footer (as far as I can see) and you can see a max of 3 or 4 lines... and I'm HOPING that this is fixed/changed.

No, Aceboards is still setup to only allow a maximum Height of "150" in the footer - and thats still the only place where you could possibly add a 'shoutbox' widget, aka Chat Room.

But what you can do is put the shoutbox on a webpage and add a link to it under your welcome message. I have mine setup that way and everyone uses it at my forum.

Check out my forum and click the link under the welcome message that says "Live Chat" and you'll see what I mean.

Heres the link to the shoutbox server where you can get your shoutbox:

http://www.shoutmix.com/main/index.php

And click my banner below to checkout my forum to see how I have mine setup.

Good luck!

thanks... I was hoping that maybe messing with the CSS file would allow the footer to be bigger... but I guess not...

thanks, I'll think about modifying it the way you mentioned...

I have mine set up the same way, in the welcome message, and it works out fine. There are a couple members who would rather it be on the front page but the majority like it better on a different page where there is some privacy from the few trolls we do have.
