When I first started my forum there was a way to ban a member or exercise some kind of moderation toward them, which I did, from what I can see now that option to do ANY kind of moderation is gone. It looks to me like the only thing you can do to moderate a member is delete their account. I know there are some options when someone first requests to join you can make them the weakest link..etc, but after you accept there membership to your forum you can't do anything but delete their account if you need to do some kind of moderation against them.

Why has this changed? We as administrators can only delete someones account now? So actually, the moderator option of the forum is pointless because there are no moderation options other than "Delete Account."

This to me makes no sense at all.

Nevermind, I found the moderation options.

That would have been awful had that been the case.

Too bad we can't delete the topics here at this help forum or I would have deleted this one pronto.

Anyway, while I'm here I'll make an observation about Aceboards apparent 'never ending' server problem.

The server is ridiculously slow and seems to get better at times and then goes back to a slow crawl again. I know that there are busy spells that cause servers to be slow, however, perhaps its time to retire this old one to the back of the closet and get a faster new one. I have a very fast cable connection so I know its not from my end. Aceboards is one of the slowest servers I have ever had the displeasure of navigating to.

Just a suggestion.

The only advantage of having a crappy dial-up connection like I have is that everything is always slow no matter what, so everything runs at the same speed all the time, just really, mind numbingly slow.

I know my forum has been dead for the last couple days. I don't even want to be there because all my time is spent waiting. Very frustrating, and who wants to be frustrated.

When it's right though, it's great. Its been easy to work with.
