Hey to anyone out there!

I want to collect the email addresses of all my members in case Aceboard shuts down. Is there a way to do it, other than going into the member list and pulling them manually?

I have over 300 members and that would a pain in the ass.

you could mass email all your members and ask them to pm or email you their addys?

I tried that mass mailing feature once and it didn't work.

What I did when I moved our forum to another host, was I put the new forum address in the "administrator welcome message" with a note that we had moved. Also, I told all the members if they had any posts they made and they wanted to move them over to the new forum they could copy and paste them over. Many people who had made long and thoughtful monologues did just that. I on the other hand, just started over with new material as I didn't have anything I felt was worth repeating..

Yea, we are moving also. Thanks for recommending that site, its being good. But we on the other hand, are moving alot of our data. I've got ten volunteers helping me roll it over!

Hopefully Aceboard keep ticking for another month and then I won't have to worry! Thanks for the suggestions!

Well kimmy, I can think of several reasons why yours might have worked and why it might not work for other people. The first being that the server has good days and bad depending on what time a day it is, and that could affect the functionality of the mass mailing if a person is trying to send it when their forum is experiencing a bad time of day. The other scenario is, members have to option to "Not" receive mailings from the forum, but the first seems more likely to be the reason, as the "mailing options" possibility wouldn't apply to everyone.
