I haven't owned a laptop yet but plan to in the near future and would like to know what brand you prefer, please state why if you have the time to.

Any that you think are not very good and need to be avoided?

I'm currently using Dell XPS M1210 .. What I feel is the body is quite heavy and the battery will be too hot when I'm using it. Most of my friends using compact hp and I think its more lighter and handy. If I have extra money I'll switch to hp someday. In terms of spec, it depends on our selection so basically which brand I like better? Definitely compact because - the lighter one

there are many manufacturers of laptop now a days. There are many brands to choose from depending on the budget you got.

High end laptops, like MAC book, sony vaio, toshiba and fujitsu, are very expensive (don't know why) and how are they called "high end".

Altough prices depends mostly on the specs, but high end laptops are way more expensive than the others with the same specifications.

With regards to this, which laptop brand or manufacturer do you really like most? (please state your reason why and if you have any experience, good or bad, with such brand, please share it also)

I compared with Lenova , Dell and Compaq. I find the Lenovo is the best in performance and its outlook.

 I am using business notebook HP, an old but still kicking good. It is very comfortable and very comfortable

I think HP laptops are best, dell and Toshiba are better too.

I use HP about 5 years. Until now, my laptop is fine and work well.
