I was going to change the e-mail address for the administrator and entered the wrong address. It logged me off and sent an e-mail to the new address with a new password. We have no primary administrator now. Is there any way to fix this?

Not that I know of, thats a major mistake to say the least. If the owner of aceboards was around they might be able to correct it, but I don't see anyway of doing it.

I know it sends an e-mail with a new password to log on. In that e-mail it says if you didn't request it then to disregard the e-mail. After a certain amount of time you'd think it would cancel it out and revert to the old password and e-mail address. It's been almost 48 hrs. Maybe I'm just too impatient! Thanks runawayhorses.

I do have a secondary administrator and he doesn't know how to fix it. We would appreciate any help we can get!

But without the new password I don't think anyone can fix it except the person who received the email with that password, because only the administrator can change his email and password, and he would need to login to his account to do it. Speaking of "passwords",I'm really surprised it gave you a new password when all you wanted was a new email address change. It doesn't make any sense to change the password too - no point in it that I can see.

I think if that happened to me and I didn't have any members yet, I would have that forum deleted and start over with a new one.

I didn't know what happened so I changed an e-mail address under my name and that's what happened. Doesn't make much sense to me either. We have a pretty good forum going or we would have started over. I thought the owners of this could fix it or have a solution. Thanks again.

I know. We were trying to find out how to get back in that panel. Surely there has to be a way.

We still haven't found a solution or got an answer so we are no longer using that board. I guess we can't even delete it because we don't have a primary administrator or password.

create the "wrong" email address if you can, and have the password sent back.
